Public Sector Law
The state passes legislation, issues authorisations, places orders, awards subsidies, is an employer and often also a contractor, and may cause or suffer loss or damage. There are many layers to the Swiss state, from municipalities through the Cantons all the way up to the Confederation, with intermediate entities such as special-purpose authorities and intercantonal concordats. Relationships between the different levels are complex.
We advise and represent state bodies, public sector companies and private entities in all matters of public sector law, e.g. procurement, data protection, subsidies, the budget, public sector employment, government liability, administrative organisation, outsourcing and privatisation, and administrative law in general. We also support the state in its role as legislator in drawing up decrees and in issues of constitutional civil rights and fundamental law.
